nah, its as popular as it ever was. some users have just mellowed out about-less flamewars. im not pointing fingers tho
We're not planning on pulling the plug, if that's what you're asking. Forums change over time, the crowd changes over time. You signed up 2 years after it started up, and already by that time it had changed. Part of it may be rnysmile finally setting up his own Bit Comet forums and drawing users over there, but since most of those users (with a few notable exceptions) never tried to become a part of the community at large, I don't see it as a bad thing.

I would say, in the beginning it started with a group of p2p savvy peeps, mostly friends from the blubster community. People already on their p2p game.
This in turn attracted a lot of newbies, either thirsty for knowledge or after a quick fix for their p2p problems. Those thirsting drank deep, and became part of the community, the others passed thru.
And so on it went, and the community continued to grow.
Its reached a point now where its top heavy with peeps who know what they're about p2p-wise. They don't need to ask many questions about "how to do this or that" anymore, so posting becomes mostly social.

The forum is still going obviously. A few characters have left over the years, but the forum will still live on. I don't come on as much as I used to, college work and life is kind of taking over at the moment.
It's obviously still ticking. It's just everyone gets busy with college/school/work/etc. This forum has always slowed down during the spring as exams approach. Also, we've lost many of our influx of "noob" questions since BitComet and all the rest have their own forums now.
Anyway, everything's fine and this place is doing well.
Trust me, the noobs have not disappeared. They just flock to the BitComet forum now. There is no danger of them dying out. Believe it.
