The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame celebrated twenty years on Monday night with a bit of Dublin headlining the show. The Irish rock quartet U2 was inducted along with all-American acts like the Pretenders, the soulful O'Jays, crooner Percy Sledge and bluesman Buddy Guy into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Monday.
U2 is getting ready to kick off their Vertigo/2005 world concert tour in San Diego on March 28.
Cable network VH1 is scheduled to air an edited version of the star-studded induction ceremony in a two-hour special Saturday at 9 p.m. In addition to the inductees, Bruce Springsteen will be on the bill as he introduced the Irish rockers and joined them on stage. Neil Young, Rod Stewart are also on stage and Rolling Stone magazine notes that "Little Steven Van Zandt took on his Silvio Dante persona from The Sopranos complete with wig and silent companion James Gandolfini -- to welcome the first of the evening's non-performing inductees, concert industry innovator Frank Barsalona."
