Irish rock group, U2, were inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame at a lavish ceremony in New York on Monday.
According to the BBC, Bruce Springsteen, who did the official induction, said that "This was a band that wanted to lay claim to this world and the next one, too."
Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr formed the group while still at school in 1977, going on to become one of the world's most successful rock groups.
Introducing the band to the audience at the Waldorf Astoria, Springsteen teased Bono as the man who "single-handedly pioneered the Irish mullet."
