I cant see anything in search with Ares!

Try uninstalling it, then reinstalling it

is it ares lite, or regular?

Ares really seems to be going to hell in a hand bag. Everywhere I look people are having all kinds of problems. I wonder why.

Hmmm...Mines working Great. When I first reinstalled it, it was acting stupid, but I closed it down and when I restarted it it was working fine.

iv just gone back to try ares and im downloading 7 items there all about half way and now they have stopped and saying "connecting" its been like this for about 2 hours any ideas (new to this forum sorry if this has been covered before)

Welcome to the herd rizlaa.

First, try to go to the connections tab, and look to see how many uploads you have it set to except at once.

The other thing, click on a file, Then right click on it, Click pause all, after they have all paused, Rightclick, and click unpause all. This will sometimes get it to connect. This is what I do, and it works:)

EDIT: BTW, this was what mine was doing when I said it was acting stupid. You can try closing it down, and restarting the program, thats what I did, and it started acting like it should.

closed it down and restarted it, a few of the downloads are queued but can you explain again about the upload limit would be gratefull.. thanks

Heres a visual aid. Set them to what you are comfortable with....Or what your PC/connection can handle. Hope this helps ya:bigwave:

thanks for going to the trouble of helping me but still no joy.. also earlier today when the files were downloading i could also see other users uploading from me but since this connecting thing has happened no one is uploading from me... ares is connected though cuz it says online....cheers

After you changed the settings, did you close the program and re-launch it? sometimes the changes wont take effect until the next time you run the program... :shrug:

still no good, i tryed ares as an alternative to limewire cuz i was getting to much junk in the search and files being named wrong... this program would be good if i could just get it to work.... what do u think is the best p2p??? (i know this is a change of subject but would like to have another opinion)

From what I understand now is that most people are having problems because Ares is having scalability probems. The network has become to large and this is causing problems for many people. Hopefully there will be another update to fix this soon but this is a major problem. There may be no easy fix.

There is an updated Ares out right now that seems to be working swimmingly, I've been using it and i don't get that search bar glitch, the new version doesn't get that glitch on Windows as well as Linux :) www.aresgalaxy.org/download.html

thank you for that link crap, i was having problems for weeks now..Says it was connecting but nothing would ever happen. I uninstalled and reinstalled again and im once again online :clap:
