SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Under rigorous cross-examination from Michael Jackson's attorney, the pop singer's accuser conceded Monday he has given differing accounts of his alleged molestation and that he'd once denied to a school dean the fondling ever occurred at all.

The 15-year-old cancer survivor also testified that he told police it was his grandmother, not Jackson, who said to him that if men don't masturbate, they might rape women. Last week on the witness stand, the boy said Jackson told him that just before he fondled him.

The testimony came on the boy's second day of inquiry from defense lawyer Thomas Mesereau Jr., whose questions highlighted several inconsistencies but were so meticulous that the teen at one point tuned out, saying he was "looking at the roof."

"I wasn't paying attention," the star witness responded to one of Mesereau's questions.
