iMesh will be launching their paid network service soon. You will be required to pay to download files on the future version of iMesh. iMesh may also charge their users to access their forum.
imlClient will still be offering a free version of iMesh for the people who still want a free version. This version will also be completely adware/spyware free. http://www.imlclient.com
iMeshLite will also offer a free version that is adware/spyware free.

What the hell? I can see having people paying for their downloads, with that being the legal way and all...but the forums? What kind of crap is that?

If a person really wants to go 100% legal with their download habits I suggest looking into Peer Impact (http://www.peerimpact.com/) Its in beta stage right now but is supposed to go final soon.
Peer Impact™ allows members who have purchased content from the service to market and redistribute it to other members. When a sale has been made and inventory is drawn from a member's shared folder, that member is rewarded with cash credit known as Peer Cash™. Peer Cash can then be used to purchase additional digital music and other content via the service.
For good or bad this is the wave of the future for paid services. snapshot (http://www.peerimpact.com/info/snapshots.html)
