Does anyone know of some good software that will enable me to take a part of a song, then play it over and over again?

i would have to go with sound forge, its the best piece of audio software ive seen. not free though.
/me makes a track of 2:58 -> 3:40 of detroit rock city cover by the mighty mighty bostones....
/me slobbers at the great-ness and bangs his computer because of the stupid skip during one second
me is t3h :lamer:
For an easy assignement as that one you can use even the sound recorder that comes in windows, by openinga the wav (you have to make your file a wav if it isnt) and then copy and paste as many times you want. Though you can give a try to Cool Edit Pro, not free but "findable", thats the one I use for recording some stuff, its even a multitrack recorder so you can do more advanced stuff.

I THINK you can use Nero burning suite if my memory serves me well. If you have that already, it would save having to use a new app.
I also use Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)which is free and quite simple to use
