Ares Not Searching

Ok here's my problem, I installed Ares on my computer which uses Windows XP Home SP 2. Each time I log in, Ares asks to allow connects to it, I say yes.

But the problem is, I have 6 user accounts with 3 administrators. On 2 of the 3 when you type somehting in Ares search it immediately shows results, you could even chat. But on 1 of them, you cant saerch, chat, or do anyhting,

Are you using the XP firewall or what?

I am also confused as to why you would have so many administrative accounts on a computer. As I have learned, and there could be other ways--there is one administative account, and then user accounts under it.
Even when only one person is operating a computer, it is a good idea to set an admin and then a user for yourself--that way you can't accidentally do something crazy w/ your system files or anything.

Sounds like a firewall setting to me.
I have fought long and hard not to install any service packs. I just get the regular virus updates and have a good external hardware firewall. But, I see I am being pushed into SP!.

I am running home on one computer and pro on the other. If you can, I would upgrade to pro, d/c the XP stuff, get a good virus suite (I use Norton Sys Pro) and a hardware firewall.
Just use the 2 that work I guess.
But, having that many admin accounts on one computer--it would confuse me, and probably my computer also.

Also, I would always use either PG and/or Protowall before starting your dl.

Your lucky you got 2 of them working...
this is a big question at the Ares Forums...
basically, there is not much you can do about it...
you share a computer with other users that have there on desktops, but not all the Registry is theres..it is Shared...
I would try installing Ares on each users desktop & not try to share the program with all.....some say this works, some say it doesn't.
If you really want to use the Ares Network, the users that it doesn't work for...
you might try File Croc..try to say away from Warez Client unless you really have to install it...JMO
