One thing you can always count on in Hollywood: When one high-profile marriage ends, another one is sure to begin. The latest rumblings from the British press have Cameron Diaz, 32, and Justin Timberlake, 23, inching closer to taking that long walk down the aisle.
According to published reports, Justin asked for Cameron's hand over New Year's weekend, sealing the deal with a ginormous diamond ring. The pretty pair reportedly celebrated the betrothal shortly after the holiday at a Los Angeles restaurant, where alleged paparazzi pugilist Diaz showed off her new jewel to pals.
Reps for the nearly two-year-old couple were quick to nix the engagement talk and dismissed the cornea-searing bauble as a joke, but Access Hollywood reports the multiple Grammy-winning pin-up (and Britney ex) recently splurged on a diamond ring from jeweler-to-the-stars Neil Lane.
This is the second time in the past few months Diaz has blinded onlookers with a suspicious-looking rock. On Aug. 1, the blond bombshell wore a diamond dazzler during a trip to Disney World with Timberlake, but her publicist denied she was looking to make things legal.
