1) Creat a new doc (ctrl+N) (Or create a new layer over exisiting background)
2) Use you Ecliptical tool to draw an oval thats about the shape of a larva Vertically

3) Fill the circle with color of choice
4) Creat new layer. Fill with color of choice
5) Go to select>Modify> 5px to 10 PX depending what size you made it
6)Delete the layer below the new one. You should now have a stubby looking oval

7) Duplicate layer, fill with gradient transparent to white, Drawing top to bottom.
8) Drop the opac to about 65%
9) Link 2 layers, merge linked
10) Got to Filter>Distort>Shear. Move the line until you get something you like.

11) Edit>Free Transform> Rotate it till you get something you like.
12) Blending options>Inner shadow.

There you have your larva. You can stop here if you like, Or you can add some details, what ever you like.
