I also have the same problem. When I first installed Ares it ran perfectly, but since it finished creating the hashlinks (I was offline then) I can't connect to the network.
I didn't change any of the settings and I even reinstalled Ares but it still won't connect.
Help please!

No need to go offline to do Hashes..it wont connect till its done anyway.....Ares 2652 is out now..if you haven't upgraded, go ahead...also, very important....if Ares gives you a popup to open a Firewall Port...let it..if you say No..it will not connect...even if you have granted it access before.
On install...uncheck all boxes but Ares..do not install NavHelper.
I downloaded the newest version of ares and reinstalled it. It connected immediately.
Thanks a lot.

I get that pop-up and tell it no, and it still connects. the only problem I have had with it is, I have to tell it no every time I open the program, which after reading that I guess its a good thing it does pop-up everytime, just incase one of these times it won't connect...I can restart it and tell it yes LOL!
BTW... When you tell it yes, does it still pop-up everytime you open the program?

also if you are running winxp sp2 the connection has been limited by microsoft from ounlimited to 10 to prevent virus spreading.
go here for the fix http://www.speedguide.net/read_articles.php?id=1497
it'll change the incoming connections from 10 - 50
