Less than a day after its release date was announced, the new Harry Potter book already appears to be a huge hit.
While it won't be released until July 16, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" has already performed some magic on the Internet -- leaping into first place on both the Barnes and Noble and Amazon Web sites.
Amazon had 1.3 million advance orders for the last Harry Potter book when it was published last year.
Author J.K. Rowling announced on her Web site Monday that she finished the book, and Tuesday, her British and American book publishers, Bloomsbury Publishing and Scholastic Children's Books, made the formal announcement of the book's availability.
