Rock,

Who knows what scans are being run for and why?? I know some of the universities are doing studies on file traders and looking to get information on the number of users.

PG also blocks stuff when you go to other sites. Like if I go to my home page, go.com, I get all kinds of blocks from Disney and some ad stuff too....

Doing a WHOIS on the first ip label as NASA, it is not from NASA at all it is a at&t broadband adress and is likely a residental broadband user.

There is alot of bad entries and bad info in peerguardian, so i wouldnt take it seriously. Do a whois and it almost either comes back as a cable modem or dial up hostname and to some isp company.

Because the lists used in peerguardian are user submitted that is why this happens, IMHO it offers more false positives than protection, and i dont think that the user submitted lists are able to find many of the servers doing the scanning, blocking companies or government web servers isnt going to do crap.
