Project Gutenberg is the oldest producer of free electronic books (eBooks or etexts) on the Internet. Our collection of more than 13.000 eBooks was produced by hundreds of volunteers. Most of the Project Gutenberg eBooks are older literary works that are in the public domain in the United States. All may be freely downloaded and read, and redistributed for non-commercial use.
So, if you don't feel like a trip to the book store or ordering online, or are simply on a tight budget, this is a good place to stop by.

There are a few others I still need to check, sites that is. I was looking for the ones w/o flashing banners dropping Vonage (I hate that thing, whatever it is, a phone I think!! Only one that has made it past the blockers in Firefox), or making you give up massive info.
I'll post more as I check them out.
