Celebrating a musical icon on what would have been his 64th Birthday; John's Secret Dreams: the Life of John Lennon By Doreen Rappaport, Illustrated by Bryan Collier

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 2004-- On what would have been his 64th birthday, John Lennon is being remembered through his music and art, and those too young to remember his legacy will be able to share and understand his message in a new picture book, John's Secret Dreams: The Life of John Lennon by Doreen Rappaport, illustrated by Bryan Collier. (Hyperion Books for Children, October 9, 2004, all ages, $16.99)

From Thursday to Sunday, a collection of his artwork entitled "When I'm Sixty-Four" will be on display at 102 Wooster Street (between Prince and Spring Streets) in SoHo. Bridging the gap between generations and adding to family discussions and collections, the brilliantly illustrated picture book by an award-winning author and illustrator team puts John Lennon's message of peace and personal search for life's deeper meaning into a different perspective through his own words, and helps the younger set to experience the mark he made on society.

John Lennon was a great man. I wish I could be in SoHo
to see this.

I went through 3 different searches with different searchers to try and find pics from the SoHo showing. Just couldn't find it.
I'm glad though that Yoko isn't doing covers of his music to go with the book.

Here's a weird piece of trivia--Lennon's killer, the guy who tried to assasinate Reagan, and a couple other major criminals all had multiple copies of Catcher in the Rye. All I remember about that book is that there was a kid and a baseball diamond, I think.
