Too Darn SLOOOOOOOWWWW!!!!!!

For the last few days, Ares utilises only a fraction (about 10%) of my connection speed (ADSL 512/128 Kbps) in order to download files. :frown:

In addition, Ares is able to download no more than 2-3 files at the same time.

The rest of the downloads seem to be to connecting (I am refering to the "Status" of the downloads in question), but that is about it (they never start to download)

I tried to "Pause All" and then "Unpause All" downloads, but it did not do any good. :rolleyes:

Everybody else can upload files from me without problems and the number of uploads never drops below 20.:hammered:


I certainly hope that at least one of my fellow "Herd Members" will come up with a solution to this frustrating problem.

go to control panel, transfer and then adjust your upload and downloads and donwloads at once also.

this may solve your download problem.

as for the speed make sure you get sources with a good amount of stars or it will be slow

also on another note i ahve found ares to work very, very well when it comes to downloading up to and over 10 files at a time, basically it will download a part while there are sources and switch files when the sources are better on other files thus you get a block of files in one go :urock:

I Just Tried out what you suggested and it really did the trick!!! :urock: :clap: :)

In order for us both to make the best of our internet connection, maybe we should e-mail files to each other, instead of waiting for ages for them to download!!!

Here is how it works!!!

The attached File (ZIP) contains a Database (MDB) file which includes everything I have managed to download so far!!!

If you find something you like, all you have to do is e-mail me (pegasus@vivodinet.gr) and let me know.

Once I have received your e-mail, I will compress the files(s) in question and e-mail them to you in return.

By the way, whats your e-mail adress ???

The main advantages of this file- sharing method are that (a) no bandwidth is wasted, since nobody else is downloading the file(s) in question and (b) you don't get any BOGUS (infected, corrupted, zero size, spam, etc) files! :type:

I would have give a word of caution here, and it is not my intent to discredit you pegasus (or anyone else).

The sharing of files by Email is very risky and prone to a virus attack. Even more so when the files are zipped and from someone you hardly know.
