Hmmmmmmmm Im not too sure about this one RB. I know that "Google Toolbar" is one of the things that "Spybot"(search and destroy) looks for and removes.

The Google Toolbar is great, that tracking thing on the Spybot is optional. Although, I have it enabled because all it does it send Google information about the page you browse, and that information is used as one of the features on Google Toolbar which tells the user the 'Page Rank' meaning how popular it is and how reliable the information is. I submitted a short review on Google Toolbar to download.com:

I have been using the Google Toolbar for a few weeks now I can say I'm impressed with it.

Offers quite a few decent features such as 'Page Rank' and 'AutoFill'. Page rank tells users on a scale of one to ten how popular the website is i.e. how reliable the source information will be. AutoFill is a nice little feature which cuts down the time of online registration processes significantly. Basically, you fill in all the information just once then when it comes to a registration form all you have to do is click one button then Google Toolbar fills all the information in.

I can tell Google have some good programmers because this never crashed once, it seems extremely stable considering all the features it has such as pop-up stoppers. Ease of use is another key element to Google Toolbar. I’m sure a newcomer to the internet will find the way around very easily with no problems, navigation buttons are clear and searching Google is made so easy.

Lastly all I can say is that I recommend this to anyone using Windows and Internet Explorer. Only downside is that it’s not supported by other browsers such as Mozilla. But apart from that it’s excellent, stable, feature-packed and easy to use; I know I will be recommending it to my friends.

the google toolbar is the best thing in the world. I use it daily and believe that my experience with ie has been improved because of this app. five stars, ten out of ten.

Many folks are suspicious of any ap that sends back information about a persons surfing habits, and I can understand why. But, I truly believe that google uses the info as it says it does, not for spying purposes. And as indx said, you do have the option to turn it off during the install. I have this ap installed, though I don't really need it, as I use Opera and MYIE2 for my browsers, and they both have built in smart pop up blocking. But, for folks using only IE, then I feel that this is a benificial tool, for pop up blocking if nothing else. My 2 cents worth. ;)

What indx said pretty much sums it up. It's a great tool to have at the ready and works flawlessly. If you end up going to Google just about everyday anyways, you might as well get this and save some time. The new features make it even better.
