I recently ordered from newegg.com a 80 gig SEAGATE hard drive ST380011A 7200 rpm. I got the hard drive home and immidietly atempted to install it on my year old windows XP computer. However, when i plugged it in and attempted to turn on my computer neither my USB ports, Monitor, nor my old or new seagate hard drive would turn on. The Power and everything is plugged in and the floppy drive, the cd/burner and the fan all seem to turn on and run properly...does anyone have any idea what my problem might be??
thanx alot if you can help or give some feedback

You might want to check to make sure you set the jumpers to the correct setting, and to make sure that you hooked it up corrected too.

If its neather of them then try using the diskette with the drive tools and use it to run diagnostics on the drive to make sure its not defective.
