Alright, I need help figuring this out. My dad has Windows 2000 pro on his computer and it keeps locking up on him, anyway I need to know which background processes are the ones needed in Windows 2000. I searched on the internet but couldn't find a website that had which processes I could kill and which I could keep on there. There were some obvious things like LexPPS (some Lexmark app) that I got rid of.

Anyway, I put Msconfig on there and got rid of everything in the taskbar. Also, I ran Ad-aware, AVG, and cleaned up junk like temp files and cookies, but it still locks up every ten minutes.

His system specs: Win2k SP4, Pentium 3 900mhz, 192mb RAM.

(The background processes I need to know are the ones in services.msc)

Okay, I finally went over to my Dad's house today and fixed the problem. There are no more lockups happening, so it was one of those stupid background processes doing it like I suspected.
