Does anyone know if a clean version has been made yet ? even unticking the options it installs 69 spywhere some you have to go into safe mode to get rid of :frown:

That's weird. I thought that eDonkey just served ads through html. There's a clean version of Overnet, but I'm not sure what the URL to the clean client is.
You can always use eMule instead. It's open source and it doesn't have spyware or ads.

You don't have to install the spyware you know. Just uncheck them when installing.

Am not thick i did and it still came on plus first time i went to change my name in the settings it was flashing i am a anus as my username this site is the offical one yeah http://www.edonkey2000.com/ that is where i downloaded my version from .

It is ok i have gone back to Emule which is awsome i just wanted to see what it was like both networks together Edonkey 2000 and i get crap installed on my pc.

Neither older overnet or the newest edonkey2000 have any hidden spyware. If you got some you either thought you unchecked all the third party applications during installation and didn't or you got it from somewhere else. As I said there is no hidden spyware or ad-aware.

There is a rare bug in edonkey installer causing it to install bundled third-party software even if you de-select it..
So in a way there's a possibility of hidden spyware...

This is the first time I've read about this bug. Fortunately, I've never had this problem. I stand corrected and hopefully it's fixed soon.
