View Full Version : Strange and Unusual Websites

I seem to run across weird websites all the time, some so strange I just have to bookmark them to go back to and to forward on to friends.
Last year, several of us around the country started sending these weird sites to each other and it turned itno sort of a daily contest thing to see who could come up with the weirdest one. I have a floppy of them somewhere, and a huge list on MSN. My list on Foxfire is growing.
I was thinking, especially after seeing some of the ones Nitnay posts, that maybe we could share some of the odder ones we run across here.
I really wish I still had the one on how to make aluminum foil head bonnets for sleeping in and one for the dog to wear at night so the aliens couldn't infiltrate anyone's (including the pets) brains while sleeping.
Some people have the strangest websites and they are actually serious about the stuff they post.

Here are Three that I can think of right off because I found 2 the other day and one is just a regular that keeps coming back to me in my mail.

The Mullet Site, where you can even get your name@mullet.com
http://www.mullet.com/mullet-galore.asp?p_id=17
I've taken you to an inside page and not the home page as otherwise you might miss the true flavor of this site.

Camel-Toe Organization, where you can rate the cameltoe and the wearer of said toe. Male, female, and famous toes are available at this site.
http://www.cameltoe.org/

The Adventures of HercuBush where you can watch old Hercules Movies dubbed with George W.' voice--(probably not for the staunch Bush backer with no sense of humor)
scroll down just a bit to get the QuickTime movie
http://www.bushflash.com/hercubush.html

I'll add more as I get to them. It's time for the Fab 5.

Here's one I've had fer quite some time, it's pretty far out, but way cool. Bunch of psychedelic flash animations accomponied by some wild music.

While we're on the hippie stuff, heres a wild forum I stumbled across, it's for everything hippie. Old hippies, young hippies, hippie culture in all it's glory. If this place had ennymore hippie flavor, you'd be tasting patchouli fer a month.........

Haha, this is part of the posting rules that cracks me up;

Multiple Personalities: Although we allow you to register multiple personalities, you may not use more than one personality in a single thread.

It's really kinda fun to read through, and I think the fact that you are allowed, even encouraged to do some roleplaying is cool.............

Can we put sites with explicit stuff up here as long as we let you know and they aren't like totally devoted to explicit stuff? I've been avoiding that and it's a bit like trying to find a rap song with no swearing.
I won't post any pRon or Hentai sites--I wouldn't anyway. But it would make this a bit easier.

Oh yeah, The Trolls are Canadian and really make fun of the States, and a little bit of Australia and New Zealand and every other English speaking country, but especially America.
so you Canadians might enjoy some of their stuff. It's goofy but funny.

I would say a warning about explicit stuff would be fine, if they are very mature and adult in content, maybe the "After Dark" forum would be more appropriate.

Fun stuff so far.

SEE THAT? RATED R? R I SAY, A BIG, HARD R.
No, make that an NC-17. Or whatever that rating is.
I'm warning you.

Naw, it's not really all that exciting. But it does contain a smidgeon of adult humor. Wouldn't show it to the 12 year old baby sitter when the wife isn't home or anything, or even highly excitable sheep in lipstick.
Just another one of those silly jokes about how guys can't ask for directions when they really should sometimes...

Sometimes, when I'm posting these, I try to figure out exactly how many people out there I will be offending with my politically Incorrect humor. And, what may be funny to me, may not be funny to you.
this next site had me with tears running down my face laughing so hard that I had to flip over to the next site I was looking at that had come over from Greece. It was so weird, I ended up just leaving the computer for a while.
Okay, the funny part about this is that the web is run by an African American man and I guess he's never let that on to anyone until doing this entry about a wedding he was doing. The Greek site is actually a bit funnier, but this is worth a read.

The best thing about Europe, for me as an Amreican who speaks basically only English (a bit of French but not even enough to count anymore), is that you can never tell what's supposed to be funny and what's just unintentionally hilarious. Some examples of this phenomenon include: Swedish Black Metal, Junior Senior and Greece's preparations for the Olympic Games. Ohhh -- and this. This little video, called "Beint af toppnum í Albaníu" takes the cake. When the singer in the moustache and the Star Trek outfit sings "Hey love crusader, I wanna be your space invader." we're 58% sure he means it. Play this with the sound on.

Most of the stuff I'm running across now has to do with politics. But, i do know that The Sisters of PerpetualIndulgence will be doing "guerilla theatre" in the streets to entertain the repubs in NY--drag queen nuns. A group from here in Milw/Madison is going out there in liue of Burningman this year. By being entertainment, it will keep them out of the 5 mile away barded wire cage.

Ah well, I wasn't in here a year ago. I don't think I came busting in here until last March or something. I was around for Extreme Topics, which I was actually much more active in, but alas, ET is no more.
I also have a friend who makes daggers, actually the husband of a friend. His daggers can be seen at:
http://www.dolls-n-daggers.com/Daggers/index.html

She, Tanya, makes OOAK Dolls, and makes a killing on both eBay and private commisions. Her gallery is at:
http://www.dolls-n-daggers.com/Dolls/
She takes dolls made by Mattel, strips the paint off, redoes the faces and makes the most incredible costumes for them. Mostly Warrior Women of yore and Goddesses of the Celtic and Norse myths.

Tanya also has a variety of free graphics and fonts (Oh how I hate that word, they are Typefaces--font is how one uses the typeface in that family!! Yes, I learned from an oldtimer in typography)
They can be downloaded and used free at, nevermind, I'll just put down the home page, scroll way down, and you will find a number of cool things.
http://dolls-n-daggers.com/
Scroll way down as the top part of her home page is rather blank. Her typefaces/fonts are pc compatible TrueTypes and I have never had a problem with any of them. However, they don't cross-platform well to Macs unless they are take into a program that can turn them into graphics, such as Illustrator.

Nina Gordon has a voice that reminds me a lot of Jewel--sort of soft, folksy, and a bit whiney at times. In the first album listed on her website, Bring the Rock, she does covers of songs by Bonnie Raitt, Cinderella, Phil Collins, Skid Row, & (to me) the weirdest of all--a hardcore rap song by NWA called Straight Outta Compton. Girls with high yet soft girlish voices just cannot pull off the sound of NWA--Phil Collins maybe, but stay away from the rap Nina.
Here's her webpage, Sights & Sounds, with her first album of remakes, Bring the Rock.

All the songs require QuickTime

Well, in my very best Fargo voice:
Okey dokey then.
Actually, I get a bunch of links from following those weird avenues that links off links can take you to. I originally got that link, the one for the song, off a blog that had to do with another site that uses the word "Cows" in its name. And, since that subject, the one that particular site adresses is not apropos for this forum--no you pervs, it is nothing to do with animal sex!!!--I did get a bit confused.
But, it's fun playing along also..........

I usually think of Christopher Walken as being a good actor who plays pretty evil and/or weird parts, and kind of pastie faced.

Apparently, he can dance also and is trying to change his image. To see him do Weapon of Choice--Fatboy Slim, go here (http://www.astralwerks.com/fbs/woc/)

I'll look at some more stuff tomorrow and see what the web serves up.
