Hard drive cleaning program?

I just want to know what program (or programs) everyone uses to delete junk off the hard drive? By junk I mean temp files, cookies, index files, and other stuff. Are there any free ones? So what do you guys use?

Right now I use Window Washer..I use to use CleanDisk2002 (http://www.aesoftware.com/products.htm) ...which is Free....2003 is not.
Than of course Spybot & Ad-aware.

hmm.I use spybot, ad-aware to get rid of some of the junk, and just do the rest manually...however I have seen some good programs like you are talking about.I am just having trouble remembering them right now.I will do some searching for you.

Yeah, I use Ad-aware and I did use Cleandisk 2002 before too. I'm just wondering if there are any free programs left out there, because all this stuff seems to be payware now.

Dont know about any free progs but Evidence Eliminator is really good. pm me if you want abit more info ;)

Window Washer I would probably pay for because I tried it and it is thorough and does most of what System Mechanic does. Cleandisk 2003 isn't very good and you can't even try out Evidence Eliminator.

No thanks on Evidence Eliminator, I would rather use FDISK for that price.:D

And of course good old Ad-Aware is free of charge.:thumbsup:

If anybody needs to destroy their HD in a hurry, check out HDKP. Be careful, it's one dangerous piece of software!

another program that does some great cleaning...and is free and easy to use is:

Emptemp 2.83..empties temp folders...finds broken shortcuts and many other type of files that waste valuable harddrive space.
I use it with Windowwasher ...a great 1-2 punch.

There is also some additional great free software available from the above site as well.
