Open source project fixes bugs, adds polish to upgraded Web browser.

The Mozilla Foundation has made an updated version of its Firefox Web browser available, offering new extension and theme managers, a changed default look, and improved migration capabilities, in what it says is an important step in the anticipation of the group's Firefox 1.0 release.

Subtle Improvements

Firefox 0.9, made available by the open-source software project on Monday, builds on the previous release with bug fixes and fine-tuning but doesn't offer any radical changes.

"It's not entirely easy to tell at first what all has happened" said Richard Heck, a Firefox user in Cambridge, Massachusetts. However, Heck, who has been using the browser for a little over a year, said that once he began playing around with it he noticed glitches from the previous version had been smoothed out and managing extensions has been notably improved.

I downloaded Firefox after some horrendous computer problems and disabled IE through the windows control panel. I love Firefox. It took me a minute to get used to, but I no longer have to listen to IE whine about Bill's issues with Sun Communication's java, I can use multilple searchers easily, and the tabs are great, i can be two places in the same forum at one time. I can really confuse people that way. I can also follow instructions on one page while looking at another and referencing yet a third at another site.
I love Firefox. I would change the whole Orange thng. I don't care mcuh for orange. But, other than that, it's great.

I'm not even exactly sure which vrsions I have, but they are diferent on the 2 computers I have sitting in front of me right now. Even in the way they loook. After fixing the tossed tower with the flying RAM chip (Grrrrrrrrrh to Gia) I found it easiet just to put it in by the other computer I had hooked up that i use the most to work on it. I told Gia to jump onto the web and download Firefox for my HP. What she got is really different than what I have on the smaller computer. Yup, just looked, This one has ver 0.8. The HP has 0.9. I think I like the 0.8 better.
Ver 0.9 seems to have this thing where it only wants to hook up to the net every other day.

I'm using vesion .9.1, and it is working swimingly. The good news is that they are starting to get the plugins caught up to this version, so it's even better. :)
