Womble used our news submit to tell us that users of our forums report that the Star-Force copy protection installs hidden drivers. The drivers can be shown when selecting 'hidden devices' in the device manager of Windows XP. Installed drivers are: 'Starforce Protection Enviroment Driver v5', 'Starforce Protection Helper Driver', 'Starforce Protection Helper Driver v2', 'Starforce Protection Synchronizer v1'. All these drivers are installed when you install a game that is Starforce protected

I read some of the comments on CDFreak.com about the article and one user found there is no mention in the EULA about the installation of these 'drivers' or whatever they are.

Sounds like scumware to me, why else hide it? What about possible hardware conflicts caused by these so-called drivers? Think about the poor average user who knows nothing about windows etc..
