CHIP GIANT Intel said that future specs of Serial ATA will double its signalling speed and give it additional cable and connectors.
The spec for the S-ATA signalling speed at 3Gbps is now complete, while the release candidate for this is being ratified. Curent S-ATA signalling speed is 1.5Gbps.
The ratification process takes 30 days and products are all ready to roll when that's completed, Intel said.
