ok i have two maxtor 40 gig drives because one i had a few months ago burnt out so i bought a new one and the old was trashed but under warranty so i sent for a new one ok. i just had a new motherboard installed and along with the hard drive that was shipped back to replace the one under warranty and the computer started up no problem so now i had two drives the one with all my data and the new clean one to backup. it has been a week now and last night when i turned my computer on it said, "secondary hard disk failure." So ive done tried to use only the bad drive without the one that works and a bunch of other cofigurations but nothing the controller sees the secondary but then pauses and says failure im fine on just this one but it seems ridiculous to have to pay for repairs when the bios is fine and setup for both and it worked for a week fine without noises and now nothing. All i would like to do is atleast reformat it even though it would be nice to get my data back.
