Finally!

Ok, earlier today, (after mowing my yard) I was getting ready to post a message on here when, poof! Screen goes black, computer shuts down. I was like great, I must have hit the power cord on accident. WRONG! I went under the desk, checked everything out, and it all seemed fine. Well, I try pressing the power button. Nothing. Monitor, speakers, modem, and all still worked and was getting power.

In short, my power supply died. It died without warning, and was not even a year old yet. However, I got a new one (60$! That's freakin crazy!) and put it in. All is back to normal, besides the 60$ part. That will never be the same.

So what kind of power supply did you buy? My 200 watt Antec power supply (came with my computer) has gone for three years now, with no problems.

I have taken it out twice and cleaned the dust out with a compressed air can, so that probably has helped it.

I got an Antec as well, but it's a 300w. It seems really nice, but I mean, $60 for a power supply?! I kinda think that's a little high.

Yeah I also have a 300 watt Antec. They are expensive, but you can probably say thats the way business is.

If you shop around you can get a new one for under 40 and a used one for under 30...

Yea, you're right. I could have got something way cheaper. But I was in desparate need! I can't live without my computer and internet running almost 24/7. If it stops, then I stop breathing. LOL :D

Exactly! I start to go into a state of depression. I first call my ISP, complain, and hang up. Then I go curl up somewhere and sleep, hoping it will be fixed by the time I wake up.

Man that does sound like a bit of a high price for a PSU.
I got my 400W PSU with a new Case for about £50-£60 :)
