i installed trillian and used reshack for the log on screen .. ever since that i cant use trillian no more . i uninstalled it and reinstalled but it still just lingers when i open the client up . i see the buddy list but it wont connect . gaim isnt connecting either . i tried 2 different acounts but aim only connects/works etc....

Try uninstalling again then going to your program files folder and deleating any folders both programs leave behind because the files you alterated may be left there and are not being over written on the new install then start again from scratch. if this doesnt work the only other thing i can think of it being is a registery key but they are best left alone if you dont know much about it.

i deleted any and everything .. i cant connect to aim now .. this is very interesting .. the gaim people said this , it may actually mean something ..

Have you recently started using a firewall or changed any options on it? you could have set it to refuse it to allow a connection to the internet by gaim or aim.

Thanx for the response . i reformatted my drive . i think it was time to , i had way too many things on it and it needed a good fresh install . thank you though ..
