What's PTsnoop and why does everybody have it on their computer?

Okay, if I understood that article right, its a piece of software for some modems (which makes sense because I've seen it mostly on systems with dial up modems) but there's also a trojan by the same name apparantly.

Yeah I was wondering because I figured it was some sort of virus or spyware, but then I used to have it on my system but Ad-aware wouldn't get rid of it or antivirus. I used to have a 56k modem in my system so that was apparantly where my PTsnoop came from. But I have also run antivirus on other people's computers and PTsnoop got detected and removed, so that was apparantly the trojan PTsnoop.

Yeah sounds like you have it understood, so if your anti-virus and trojan remover programs are upto date and nothing is being detected you are ok.
