Just wanted to know if AVG 7.0 provides Script blocking?
"Many virus's take advantage of run scripts. Scripts can make a PC users life easier by automating routine/mond tasks, however malicious code can use this ability to create havoc on a machine."
So should i try another antivirus that provides this facility or am i safe:eek:

Hey Lion i think u got me wrong, i sorted out the Scirpt Problem last time, thanks to C0lin (i think) ;) lol, you Know Norton provides scirpt virus blocking, when use the Eicar test file script on txt file AVD doesnt detect that, but detects the program virus not the script one.

I think I understand what you are asking, but I am not sure if AVG does that or not. All I can tell you is that AVG has never missed anything for me, and I have had it on 2 computers for 2 1/2 years, as well as putting it on all my friends and neighbors PC's too, including my sister's computer at the bank she works for. With as much internet activity as I do, I would think if AVG was lacking in any way, I would have been caught by now.
Incidently, a caller on Tech TV's "Call For Help" the other day asked Leo Laporte if AVG was as good as the "Non Free" alternative anti-virus applications. (click) (http://www.techtv.com/callforhelp/shownotes/story/0,24330,3609769,00.html) He said if it wasn't, then they wouldn't be recommending it to everyone. He went on to say that he has it installed on his machine at work, as well as home. That is a pretty big endorsement, don't you think? ;)
Quote from the show notes:
Answers to Live Calls
Freeware vs. retail software
Dennis from Vanceburg, Ky., called asking if the free versions of AVG Anti-Virus and ZoneAlarm are just as good as commercial antivirus programs and firewalls.
AVG Anti-Virus does everything the big boys do, including regular updates. It's also ICSA Labs certified (http://www.icsalabs.com/). ZoneAlarm works great, too. You get a little bit more with their commercial counterparts, but you don't need anything more than the basic free versions. Back up before you install either program, because some people have compatibility issues.

I forgot you aren't here in the US. Tech TV is a network that shows tech programs, all about computers, gadgets etc. Click on any of the links I provided below for some of the better programs. They have nice websites as well. Also click on the link above for the show notes where they were talking about avg. :)

Well, that's why I make the big bucks. :D
They are good. It's a shame you can't get the show in the UK. I have picked up a lot of knowlege from them over the last 3 years. Besides, some of the girls on there are ultra hot!
Example, my favorite redhead, Jessica Corbin. (She is Pat Boone's grand daughter)

Easy RB we dont want you to strain yourself. J/K
All kidding aside I have been using AVG for quite a while and no problems as of yet. That being said always use an online virus scan as a backup, as you cant be too carefull. A good one can be found here.
