Back many, many years ago, a great composer by the name of Mozart died. He was buried 'with honors'.
One day, a street cop walking the beat around where the cemetary was heard some unusual, well defined, but unrecognizable tune coming from the ground. Haunting it was, yet so familiar. Even though he was scared, he hurried over to local college's music professor's house and woke him up.
The cop took the professor to the area and the two of them waited patiently. Suddenly, and without warning, the music started up again. First one tune, then another, then another.
The professor listened intently for a while and finally smiled. He lit his pipe and started to walk away knowingly.
"Wait a minute!" the cop shouted. "Do you know what is going on here?"
"Yes," the professor replied. "It started out with Mozart's 9th Symphony playing backwards. Then, it was Mozart's 8th Symphony playing backwards. Then, it was Mozart's 7th and 6th. I imagine the next one will be Mozart's 5th Symphony. You see, Mozart is decomposing."
