hmmm.I am too too lazy...Is there anyway I can get someone to make me a background with a mixture of Ohio State,Cleveland Browns,Cincinnati Reds, Kevin Harvick, and Dale Jr? It doesn't have to have all of them in it just maybe a slight mixture of a few of them.If not it's cool because I need to get off my lazy butt and learn how to do this stuff.

I would upload it to my website but im havin problems with it at the moment. Once my site is up and running again I will post all of my images at full background size. Ill keep you guys informed!!
But for now heres an idea that might work.
You could try right clicking the image and click "set as background". If the pic shows up tiled on you desktop right click any part of your desktop and choose "properties" select the desktop tab and in the bottom right corner you'll see an option called "position" select "stretch" from the drop down menu and the apply the changes.
This may make the quality of the image become distorted but its worth a try.
Carrie
08-23-2003, 11:17 PM
well you could do all of that, or you could just DL irfanview, and resize it with little or no damage or pixelating to the pic:) just a thought:)

Bryce is really confusing at first, it hides stuff from you.
the basic install comes with basics tuts. go too the help menu if you want them.
Tip:
to get object texture pre made select the object you wwant and hit the little arrow next too "edit"
btw, ty for the link PB. never have figured out the animations yet :)

Where's my stuff at? In a folder on various computers and disks here and there.
You know it took me months to put up my photo, you are one of the few who has been over to my DA thing, adn I think you had the wrong one since you said I was poetic--I don't write, I had someone else make my sig banners (he just assumed I couldn't), and I have only put one twisted picture up here that I have done and a couple avatars.
<y backgrounds just so suck compared to you guys. I have no imagination at all. And the little I have is really demented. Like reallllllllllllllllllllly, demeted.

Something I whipped up real quick.....
Did you use Illustrator for this one kitty? That looks like the envelope distort feature in there for the UTC page.
Does anyone here use Illustrator?
**ISOSES, I think Paint by MS is impossible, I can't do anything with it. Gimp with its tools is a good free program (download the tools first, then the program) and is just as good as PS I think. And, there are lots of tuts and communities out there on the web for it.

I'm an all PS girl! The effect is created by first "Free Transforming" the image to the size you want. Then go to your Filters and use "Pinch", play around till you get it how you like it. Go back to "Free Transform" and tweak it up a bit. Drop a shadow behind it and there you go!
As for Illustrator I played around with it a long time ago when I first started getting into making my own backgrounds and never really liked it that well. I found that I could create the same effects with PS. Now as for newer versions of Illustrator, they may have added features that made the program better, I couldn't say as I haven't used it. I know thats not much help, maybe someone else can give you more feedback on it. (*bump*)

I've been put into this very stiff mindset about what goes where in which programs--and I think that has really inhibited a lot of the work i picture in my head.
Yes, Illustrator 10, like PS7 introduced many new tools. When I took it, I felt there was nothing that I could do in there that I couldn't emulate just as well in PS, which I had bewen using since Version 6. I actually sat in the front of the room, behind a (fortunately) huge Mac Monitor, shedding tears--I actually cried over that program. But, then suddenly it clicked.
I am one of those people that evry prof writes at the top of my paper 10/10, but RTFM. I used the manuals just like reference books and that was it.
When I hit my first logo job in Quark, I cried "why can't I just make a Text Box, fill with red, use white print in the typeface the client desires? And InDesign was the same way, except that I found there were many times I couldn't import from other Adobe products. Crap, InDesign is the Quark of Adobe, why wouldn't it work well?
I have never used PSP, but I love a lot of the pics I have seen from it.
I think I need to throw everything out the window that has been drilled into me as far as traditional how to and just go for it, I just seem to be afraid to jump over the edge. I am one of those terrible snobs that has for years felt that these computer programs were fun, but definitely no Art. Art is paper and brush. But, i have since changed my mind.
