I would like to test try eMule Plus, but my mule is running fine at the moment. Is it possible to run eMule and eMule Plus at the same time?
The reason i'd like to try eMule Plus is for the 'community sharing' option, sounds like a good thing to me :)
Also would anyone recommend one above the other? :argue:
Also, why was community sharing banned from the 'normal' eMule version?
Any help with these questions would be much appreciated ;)
Many thanks, Rich :)

Flip a coin. (lol) Seriously, different folks like one over the other and all have their reasons. I have used both, and have had similar results with each. I would recommend going back over to that link I gave you the other day for better explanations about community sharing. Although, I am sure our knowlegable members will have some info too. ;)

hmmm,
thanks for your reply.....
i see where you are coming from, definately!
However, often 'specialist' files, i.e. those in low supply, can only be spread with communities.
for example, trying to download a file from a single source (that is often the case in my situation i.e. 'Mercredi, folle journée!')
in this case priority must be given to those trying to download from the single source else, i'm afraid it will not be spread.
i.e. a supplier of 5000 files who is online intermittently, if you try and download from him alone, if he goes ofline the download will not continue when he comes online, i know this.
therefore community helps spread specialist files!
which is a good thing in my case anyway :)
thanks, rich :)

Partly I can understand your point, but community only really helps those in it while putting those outside of it ( ie. the majority of us ) in an unfair position. One could say community-sharing is good way to initially spread files but I think this remains unproven. Personally I put my faith in eMule devs and their opinions, as we 'normal' users are usually plagued by emotions like greed ( "I want it, and FAST!" ) which tends to distort our views ;)
What is good for you or me, may not be good for the network in long term. And if a file is rare in ed2k, you should try other networks. Perhaps it is more common elsewhere? Then bring it to ed2k, and powershare it :type: ...just my two cents
