I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to the best methods/programs to use to take MPEG-1 video files and put them on DVD with a menu and chapters.
I have been searching through dvdrhelp.com and there are alot of guides and topics in their forums, but instead of wasting my time with trying all these programs, I wondered if any of you had some suggestions.
Thx in advance for any help.

I know I will have to learn how to use paintshop or photoshop to make a menu regardless of what program I use.

Here (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/search.php?mode=results) is the list of posts at dvdrhelp.com that I am searching through to try to find the best solution to this problem.
I am leaning towards trying out Ulead's software right now.

TMPGEnc DVD Author may be another way to convert.
Here (http://www.lordsmurf.com/convert/vcdtodvd/vcdtodvd.htm) is a decent tutorial.
To answer your question colin, I have found a couple of tutorials and I am gonna try to clear some space on my harddrive so I can try out these 2 programs.I will definitely let you know how it goes.

I just tried TMPGEnc DVD Author. It took about an hour for 8 files. It has alot of great features. However, this was my first go, and after converting my MPEG-1 files to DVD format. The sound was great, but the video was all jacked up.I have to do some more messing around with the options, and see if I can get it working. It lets you make menus, and tons of stuff.I hope I can get it to work.

Ok.For everyone who was interested in this topic..I just successfully put my MPEG-1 files onto DVD and it plays in my dvd player.
I used a program called DVD Lab.It was extremely easy to use, and really didn't take much time to do.Setting up/creating menus was pretty easy.I think TMPGen was maybe a little easier to create menus with, but I had problems converting with TMPGen. I successfully got 14 MPEG-1 files onto a dvd with decent menus.Unfortunatley, I only have a trial version of DVD Lab which runs out in a couple of weeks, but atleast I got to see what it could do before hand.Looks like I will be trying to get as many of my MPEG-1 files off my comp and onto DVD before this trial version runs out.
