I have to say..I really like this version.
It does however use 3 times the RAM as pr7..but it does do alot more....and the Live Popup is a great feature.

I assume it's still a real pain in the arse when it comes to cpu usage? I hate it when my 'puter freezes for a while every 5 minutes...

wow..I have never had that problem with PG..What is your system, and what all programs do you have running while trying to run PG?

The regulars: browser, avg, sygate, emule on winxp...not much more. It was always the same: PG cpu usage hit the roof for about 10+ secs and completely freezing every other app.

have you tried incorporating PG's list into sygate.Having 2 firewall programs running at the same time could be causing that.

I run PG with ZoneAlarm without any problems....
See if you can find a copy pf PG 1.99 pr7..it uses less resorces.

You can convert the list to use with Sygate

pr-13-6 just got released..it uses about the same amount of RAM as 13-5...but it seems to handle it better...so far anyway.

'Haps I should try the latest build and see how it behaves...About those blocklist converters: tried yes, but it too becomes a pain to update those rules because for effective use the PG blocklist must be split to 6-8 rules in sygate ( it can't handle long rules ). So instead of easy updating it takes time :(

Your right, it does lordpake. It's not with the list though, the problem is with Sygate. That is why they have to split up the list into 8-9 parts. I just update my Sygate with the list once a week. I copy and paste the list into a Notepad doc, then copy each section naming them "PG Blocklist #1 as of 01-25-04," "PG Blocklist #2 as of 01-25-04," etc, etc. It doesn't seem too bad that way. It takes me less tha 5 minutes usually. ;)

I don't know how much I like this new version...It is a big system hog..It seems to always be using atleast 45% CPU and a lot of memory..
