I use burst!rc5, and I was wondering how you can catch a hit and run on it because burst doesn't show ip's when you are seeding a file.

Someone who finishes their downloads then splits instead of seeding...........

BTF, I have been using Azureus also. I don't use either exclusively, but switch between em. I often get substantially faster speeds using Azureus though. Azureus shows all kinds of good info about yer downloads/uploads.

BTW, if ya need some good BT sites, PM me..............

Yeah, rasta is right. It isn't really a fair term for guys like rasta and me who at times, stop their download, only to reopen it later. Sometimes I have to stop a dl or seeding in order to browse. I usually open it again later to seeed some more.

I am giving Azureus a try on Rasta's recommendation.I like alot of the features that it has that Burst does not have, but Burst has a few features that I wish Azureus had...

I was asking how to catch a hit & run(leecher) because of Digital Updates policy on leechers.I realize everyone is not a leecher, and that there are ppl who will help seed. It's just frustrating when you seed a file for a few days and as soon as some users get to 100% they leave and don't help to seed the file.

Yep, it's frustrating. But I'll let others worry about it. I just try to do my own best. One thing I do routinely is to scan the posts for an item I have already downloaded to see if ennybodies stuck and needs seeders. I then come to the rescue and reseed it till some more are done and can continue to seed. I gotta admit it is very frustrating to have to do that again and again because people just finish and run.

Another really cool thing about Azureus is that you can download parts of a file. This is handy if there is a corrupt .zip or .rar, or part of a movie or album, you can start the download over and select only the piece you really need instead of downloading the whole thing over again.

yeah..i noticed that..i wish azureus had the option to reconnect to the tracker if a set amount hasn't been downloaded within a certain amount of time.I like that option in burst.

Huh? I'm not sure I follow what you are referring to and I haven't seen that feature in Burst!

What is it's purpose? Could you explain this a little further?

I dunno if this is the same thing, but Azureus continually updates the tracker status.

Ennyways, I will tell you this. Sometimes Azureus gives me better results, sometimes Burst! does. I don't know why, but I also use them both in tandem (run at the same time for the same file) sometimes. I would not say that one is better than the other, but both are useful. Burst! give me way better seeding, Azurues sometimes hangs up and won't upload, even after the download is done. I have been loading my finished downloads into Burst! and seeding them from it.

wonder if what you circled is the same as what you can set burst up for....I agree with you that both are great programs...Guess I will probably use a combination of both as well...Azureus really hasn't given me any problems yet...I have to open up burst a couple times before it will run because I have a Pentium 4 with Hyperthreading enabled.Something about that makes burst start up incorrectly sometimes..oh...In the end, I really only use mirc and torrents anymore to get what I want...

hehehe...btw I noticed we both modified our pic posts...lmao....you can never be too safe...

Azureus finally hung up on me, but it was because of stupid java..I looked and java was using like 65% of my CPU.Shut down azureus and java, and restarted them and everthing seems to be working great again.I am getting a little better speeds with azureus for downloading.I got better upload speeds with Burst as you said you did as well.
