They either bumped a few users ahead of you or shut down & restarted..which will start 'Q' all over again.

It is because WinMX is rampant with "File Traders." They contact the person with the file they want through the built in chat feature, ask if there is something they have that the other person wants, and if they do, they are moved up in front of everyone else. It is not a first come, first served basis.
Feenie, the husband of our beloved "Udder Shaker" is a big WinMX fan I think, maybe he can shed some more light on this for you. ;)

The WinMX Monitor will bump you out of a persons que also. Some people have their wnmx monitor set to number VERY FEW can match, others set it to say 20gigs. If you dont have the minimum amount of gigs then the monitor automaticly bumps you out of the que.

does this happen to you on a regular basis, or just that one time? Every so often winMX will check each of your queues to double check where you are in the queue. If the user is no longer responding, or the response doesn't come back fast enough, you can lose that queue, and if you have finding sources turned on, you can refind that same exact person and reconnect to them, but in a later queue because it looks like you're just connecting to them (athough you were connected earlier) for your first time. sucks doesn't it?
If this happened several times, it may be because you had a bad primary user. Or it could even be that they were connected to a bar primary user. Lots of things could have happened.

(this shouldn't be happening on a regular basis)
