kazaa Lite Vs. The Rest

Hi guys right now i use Kazaa lite, sense it rocks and has no spyware, i have not really looked if there are any better ones out there, so i am asking you guys what you think is the best spyware free P2P client!

Also what do you think of things like DC++ and Direct Connect?:confused:

I cant say what is best because each client has ups and downs.
Emule (edonkey2000) is good for game or program isos/bin/ccd's and dvd rips aswell as some small proggies.

Kazaa i dont use much cause its full of viruses and fakes i sometimes use it for rare songs/music tho

irc is good for everything if u know what irc servers and channels to use (takes a little getting used to)

Piolet is good for music

Shareaza for small programs and because it has connectivity to ed2k netowork

dc++ is the same thing as direct connect dc++ is just direct connect with addons.

Albert i try not to use k++ any more because of the riaa fakes ect +++++ there are better progs out there like the torrent and E-Mule piolet and ares just try them all se which suits you after all it is what you prefer to use

Shareaza is good for verifieds as it connects to G2, eDonkey and BitTorrent and can download the same file from all three networks at the same time.

Personally I use BCDC, Bittorrent Experimental, Emule and WinMX, all these clients seem to fill my needs. I generally dont like using K++ due to the same reasons cited above (Viruses, RIAA etc).

I also use Shareaza on and off and it is a nice fully clean client (No ads or spyware), you may want to try that seeing as you are a beginner. DC++/ BCDC is good only if you share quite a bit of files usually 10GB or more will get you into some good hubs.

It also depends what type of files you are looking to download, each program has their specialities.

I guess have been using DC++ more and more recently that K++ for a while. If you get into good hubs the files tend to be better quality and much more reliable (haven't seen any fakes up to now). Also private hubs are a good way to with the recent RIAA problems too.

The problem is having a good number files already for qualifying for entrabce to the good hubs.

Another option I have been using more and more is Bittorrent for movies and TV series.

As for grabbing individual songs here and there I still use K++ if I can't find it on Imesh (Dr. Damn clean version of course).

I like K++ for getting mp3's. I get insane download speeds (200+ sometimes).

I like WASTE (http://www.unitethecows.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=118) for security, a person with a little motivation and alot of filesharing friends can start his/her own network

I like the mule/donkey for software and movies. Its ok if I pimp sharereactor.com go there for an idea of the power of the mule...

Ya i am not that new i used the old old Napster before it came on the news and got attacked.

Then after that i used Direct Connect but found that with my 56k at the time i did not have enough files to go onto most hubs. So then i switched to Kazaa but after the spyware and ads started to drive me crazy so i went to kazaa lite.

Saddly i don't keep upto date enough with all the problems, so far i have not had any problem with any fakes stuff like that, although i do not download that much music.

What is this about RIAA fakes? i need to keep upto date on my news.

I use Kazaa Lite and it seems to be a very good and fast program . I prefer Clean Imesh (Dr damn version) however as I get faster speeds and more legitimate downloads without the fakes and renamed files that seem so common on Kazaa .

Kazaa can no way compare to vastitude of files that are found on ed2k, not to mention the verified one's...I'd like you to find a Centropy copy of T3 on KaZaA, come tell me when hell freezes over and I might use Kazaa for something other than porn.......

Ed2k wins hands down on the movies front

bittorrent is a bit iffy at the minute alot of speculation with the security staying off it for now ARES is solid always there and piolet is a good option i keep K++ going but it is a last resort due to the fakes ect.

as for the RIAA and fakes, the RIAA are flooding eg: Kazaa with fake files the enslaught will keep on going :eek: lol

I'm still using Kazaa lite at the moment. Touch wood still haven't received any virus from it.

But due to the amount of fakes on Kazaa I have started to use Winmx and Shareaza more.

Im partial to the newest release of kl that blocks the RIAA, but in the past i used WinMX though i couldnt find many of the MP3s i was looking for :( so i dropped it reluctantly.

Right now i pretty much use mostly Piolet, Im not on the best connection so i avoid big files stick to music, Piolet has good speeds n the best files. For anything else i need i use kazaa lite, which is hardly ever.

I'm using Piolet now for music but i still keep going back to kazaa lite for rare ones and programs i want to get a hold of, i always use verifieds if i can though and i have never had a virus yet and only a couple of fakes.

If you happened to see a list of the user names that were going to get subpoenas, then you might have noticed that all of the names (except 2) were KaZaA Media Desktop users. The other 2 were KaZaA Lite and iMesh users, 1 each. It is just not safe to use KaZaA right now.

right now the RIAA is seting up comps running kaZaa just to spread corrupted or fake files onto the network. Because kaZaa has no serious file-checking corruption check; when you swarm your downloads from various sources and one of them is one of the RIAA's bots, your dl is going to be screwed up. I've read a lot of complaints.

As far as the best program to download stuff?
Best for movies? who can say they can beat maxing out their bandwidth no matter what? Songs? How about full alblums (already cut up for you), also maxing out your bandwidth. It's hard to surf the web I'm downloading so fast sometimes. I'm not talking about bittorrent or even eMule. We're talkin' about NewsGroups. Literally tens of thousands of newsgroups are out there, and you can and will find one for you.
It's so fast becuase you're downloading from your own isp's servers not individual users. holla back!
Newsgroups take some getting used to, but slyck's guide for NGs (http://www.slyck.com/ng.php) can turn you into a dling pro in no time.

I use winMX for everything else. the WPN plus the fact that you can easily add 10-50k extra users via OpenNaps makes finding rare songs a snap.
