3 programs solved my internet security problems by using them simultaneously

Want to share with you the results of my work. I've discovered that these 3 programs solved my
security problems by using them simultaneously.

1. XoftSpy-SE (the biggest base of detected spyware programs) +

2. Netcom Internet Security (complete protection from viruses including firewall) +

3. SpyBot Search and Destroy (the only freeware anti-spyware program!)

These programs are from the the different manufacturers and they do have different threats definitions bases but in a complex they cover 99.8%! of all known threats. These numbers are taken from the direct comparison of the 18 popular antivirus programs so it can be trusted.

No mention of AdAware? I use AdAware and Spybot together. I would always recommend that at least two ad sweeping programs be used together, though.

oh, I forgot to say that you also see almost no advertisements as well.

There is one other Firefox extension you might want to get :Flashblock , that prevents all flash objects from loading while you surf. The 'flash' area is now represented by a symbol, that you can click on - when YOU decide you want to view the imbedded flash object(s). ie.. load on demand.
The advantage of this (other than the obvious) is that your browser pages load MUCH faster, since the browser doesn't have to wait for all the 'flashes' to load before you can view the page.

Once you do these Ad-block plus & Flashblock extension, you will never go back to anything else.

hmmm. my first post (up above)went gone missing :lol:

I posted that there was an easier way to solve the spyware / adware problem.
Since November I have been spyware / adware free by using:
Firefox as my browser and Adblock+ add on, with these two filters inserted (from the Adblock site - ez to do within the program) :
EasyElement + Easy List...and.. ABP Tracking Filter.

Once I did this I haven't had ANY spyware adware popups or malware.
I check every now and then, just to make sure, but nothing is detected.

This combo eliminates the bloat, adjustments, updating and slowdown of browsing speeds that you get with Norton and Spybot.

The 2 Adblock+ filters automatically update daily, or you can choose to do it manually. (add this in with my comments above)
