Since the days of AudioGalaxy many have attempted to imitate the unique P2P experience that AudioGalaxy gave. Few have perfected it to the extent of GLT Poliane. With GLT Poliane providing many of the features that AudioGalaxy once had, it is gaining some popularity as a home for ex-AudioGalaxy lovers.

The AudioGalaxy experience was one of a centralised server that liked users files to a web based interface where you could find almost any music file provided you queued up your files. It was also known for the recommendations on similar music types that more often than not found something to your taste. i loved AG....spent alot of my time there, that used to be my second home.
i tried GLT version 2.06, 2.07, yadda yadda yadda, but found they were down more then they were up.

always haveing server problems, but...since i see this, i may just try it again but.....

i will never give up ares totally :)

This program is so much like the old AG, it makes me nostalgic!

I do have some questions though, like how secure is it compared to some of the other more popular P2P aps?

I am definately going to give this a try.

it has a centralised server :( just like AG, and in time
(sad to say) it going to have the same fate, its too small for the RIAA to bother with right now. IMHO

Yes, I knew about the central server part. The fact that the servers are in several other countries may help put that fate off for a bit. What I meant was, for example, can users view my shared files like some other programs? Most good apps now give you the option to turn this feature off. (i.e. eMule, Ares, Blubster, even KaZaA and it's lite versions etc.)
