Why would you want to convert from one lossfull format to another? You just feel like dimishing your audio quality exponentially?

if you converted from one lossfull codec like mp3, ogg, aac, wma, etc. to another, you did.

Quite true. I do agree with ya though vlet, when I first got into all this about 2 1/2 years ago, I would occasionally rip form one lossy codec to another, but my sound card and speakers were so weak that I couldn't really hear the difference. That was before my "education" into digital media. You can still do it, if your original rip is a high bitrate, but I don't recommend it. The home site of dBPowerAMP, www.dbpoweramp.com has some great info about all the codecs, lossy and otherwise. You can also download practically any codec you want as a plugin for dBPowerAMP for free. I recommend it for anyone wanting to learn more about codecs and digital music. dBPowerAMP is one of the best encoders/decoders/converters available, and best of all, it is free with great support. I highly recommend it. ;)
