In the Nevada desert, an experiment has gone horribly wrong. A cloud of nanoparticles — micro-robots — has escaped from the laboratory.

I know this book is one of Crichtons older ones but it is definately a MUST read for any tech junkie. Crichton lures you in with this intensity that really gets you to thinking "what if?" Plus his interweaving of the characters lives really pulls you into the story and you walk in Jack's shoes. Through his life, his marriage and through the horror he unveils. Definately, a great book to pick up and if you check with your local book store, where it is an older book you can pick it up in hardback for less than $10!
Read it you won't be disappointed!

It's not that old, Kitty. I picked it up a few years ago, and enjoyed it. Of course, I think the best Crichton novel has to be Sphere. Not sure why I enjoyed that one so much more, but for some reason, it was the best. Second would be Jurassic Park.

But indeed, Prey was up there!

Sphere was great, I read that one two but Prey is still my favorite. I never did read Jurassic Park, saw the movie though and enjoyed it. Crichton is just great all around I love reading his novels!

I can't wait to get my hands on his newest novel "Next" I am sure it will be right up there with great ones.

I've not heard anything either way on this one yet. All I have heard about it so far is the theory that Chricton is getting back at someone that crossed him a bit ago by writing him in as a child rapist or something.
