ares freeze

Hi. I was using Ares 1.9.6 and it was working beautifully for days and one day i left it on and when i tried to use it after a while it froze after working really slowly. Now it always freezes if i try to use it. I can run it and the downloads work and it wont freeze as long as i touch it. The downloads only work because theyve been active before the problem started. After running for a while it slows down my computer.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and even went back to 1.9.5 and i still have the same problem.
Any help would great
