File Description:

FreeRIP can record digital audio tracks directly from compact discs, without going through your sound card. You can save tracks as CD-quality WAV files or encode them to Ogg Vorbis or MP3 compressed format.

Changes in Current Version:

Fixed W98/95 compatibility problems with the new ripping engine

Added a splash screen

Added a splash screen disable option for registered users only

Totally rewritten ripping engine: now fixed many problems like "no CD found" and "no WNASPI found"

Changed Device setting page, removed jitter control, added a brand new "Safe mode" reading style

No more advertisement banners on the main window (only Amazon textual links)

Added error messages for Wav file unsupported format

Now FreeRIP correctly ends on error a Wav to MP3 conversion with sampling frequency under 20KHz

Excellent Free Ripper! I have had this for some time, but this update puts it back among my favorite audio tools. Simple inteface, fully functional, excelent sound quality. They even removed the annoying animated add banner. The only real draw back, make sure to "Opt Out" of the "MY Search Bar Plugin." Otherwise, I highly recommend this ripper. - RB
