So, looks like my site isn't going to be happening any time soon. Here's the story..
A few years ago, my current room mate bought my domain name, and hosted my webpage through www.godaddy.com. Recently we received an e-mail that said it was about to expire. We thought, ok, that's fine. As soon as it does so, I can buy the name, and go from there. Well, we let it expire..but for some reason, it was still listed in his name. We then found out that there is an additional 12 day waiting period given to the owner if he/she wants to buy it back. So we let that time run out too.
So then, after those 12 days, I checked again, and still, it's listed in his name. Well I called the company and asked what the deal was...
Looks like there is an additional 75 days of waiting after those 12 run out. Something to do with being able to relist it with the world community or something. I can break that wait period by paying 80 dollars.
Had I asked them about this during the 12 days, we could have just bought it again in his name and transfered it to my account. Now we either have to wait, or pay. Wonderful.
