the main reason I haven't downloaded any opensource or whatersource browsers for my internet surfing pleasure is mainly because I believe that ie is the only browser that the google toolbar works on (officially anyway). I was wondering if anyone was having any luck as far as installing the google toolbar on any other browsers (mozilla, etc.)
if so lmk!

I'm not positive, but I think I read that SlimBrowser (http://www.unitethecows.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1296) now has support for the Google Toolbar. SlimBrowser is really an ie extension, but it offers many features that IE doesn't. Features like tabbed browsing, pop up blocking etc. MYIE2 (http://www.unitethecows.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1348), CrazyBrowser (http://www.crazybrowser.com/), and Avant Browser (http://www.avantbrowser.com/) are also very good IE extensions, but I am not positive about support for google toolbar.

Does the google toolbar offer some particular need for you? I like it, and have it on my IE for Pop up blocking, but my browsers of choice (Opera & SlimBrowser) do these things for me, as well as many other things as well. Just curious. ;)

atm, the google toolbar has incorporated into it a distributed computing (dc) project (http://toolbar.google.com/dc/faq_dc.html). (you have to download (http://toolbar.google.com/dc/aboutdc.html) the extra feature into it)...and I didn't want to discontinue helping the folding@home cause just because I was planningo n switching browsers.
Read up on the links above; it's interesting once you start thinking about it.
