So, the reason that I wasn't around today, posting like I normally do, was this: This morning when I got to work, I parked my car like any other day. I'm in the garage, on the down ramp; nice and cool, and easy out parking. Anyway, so I go to turn off the car, and the key won't budge. It's locked in the on position. Nothing moves at all. So I try to wiggle it. Nothing. I try turning the wheel. Nothing. I try pretty much everything I could think of, and nothing happened. Locked in the on position, car running. Well, I tried again to muscle it, and wouldn't you know it, I break off the key, and the top of the ignition switch in my hand. Car turns off, but the key is permanantly stuck in there.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up spending 7 hours taking apart the steering shaft, to get to the ignition, to replace it. $11 for the new ignition plus keys, $85 deposit on the tools I had to rent from the place to do it (needs special tools to get the wheel, and other pieces off.)

Anyway, so yeah, that's why I wasn't online today.

Good to see you visiting Kikyo - make yourself at home.

And don't be a stranger! (Irish expression = don't wait long to come back)

Well to give you the final info on the car, the computer is damaged, and thus, there's chance that all the parts that I replaced did not need replacing. so, nearly 500 bucks are gone now, possibly without reason. There's no point to spending the money it would take to get a new computer for the car, thus it is totaled. I'm now riding my bike or walking to work in the mornings and afternoons. At least I get some outside time!
