So, here I am, minding my own business, when all of a sudden, I remember that it's about that time of month when I have to pay my student loan. Well, for some reason, no bill comes, and I think nothing of it. More time passes, and I soon forget about this bill that needs to be paid. A week or so later, I remember the bill, and am further confused as to why I've not received a statement. Well, some more time goes by before I wise up, and log onto the site to see what the hell is going on.

I log on to find that I'm late one payment, and that I own twice the normal amount. Well, I ended up paying that, and calling these people about the bill. I must have called to late, as no one was there, and had to call the next day.

Well, I ended up going back to Kansas City that next day, and found that there was a student loan bill waiting for me at my father's house. What the heck was going on here? So I called them up and asked what had happened.

They said that the bill had been sent back to them, and that they forwarded it to my next listed address, which is my fathers. Well, here's what happened.....

The week that the actual bill was mailed, was the week of spring break. I had returned to Kansas City to spend some time with my family. Well, I guess our mailman figured that since the mail had piled up over the course of 4 days, we MUST have abandoned our apartment, and took it upon himself to return ALL out mail from that week.

Brilliant....just brilliant.

And thus, I was late one payment.

Could have saved a lot of trouble by putting in a temporary change of address...

Or, talking to your mail person...

Glad to see you got it straightened out though...

Yeah, I didn't think that me being gone for just 5 days would result in him thinking I had abandoned the address.

A lesson learned for next time, Indeed

We are on first name basis with our mailman which is cool

That is pretty cool. I've only been living in our apartment complex for something like 6 months, and we've already had three different mailmen. Not so easy to get to meet them. Plus, they tend to come when I'm at work. Never really get that chance. But I do think it'd be cool to meet them, and be on a first name basis.

We used to be that way with the UPS man years ago back when I lived in Kansas City. My mother got packages all the time, as well as my father, and Mark would come almost every day. course, that was years ago, and I think he retired.
