HELP may be at hand for internet users sick of the sight of an inbox filled with junk emails.
Unsolicited commercial emails - known as spam - spruiking everything from pornographic websites to weight-loss programs to get-rich-quick schemes will be targeted under new laws introduced into parliament today.
Not only a major annoyance, spam can be a major economic impost too, with the problem estimated to cost businesses around $900 per worker each year.
