I just got done reading the Stephen King Novel: On Writing.
Its pretty much a memoir of his life, and the events leading to his career in writing. I can't say that I enjoy his style of writing, but I must comment on this book. It's an instructional, in terms of his opinion, on how to be a writer. If you are an aspiring writer, I think that you should read this book. It's interesting to read about his life, and see how he grew up to be the writer his is today.
One of the things I think I like about it most is that it is writen in a very simple language. He wrote this novel for anyone to understand, ranging from the experienced writer, to the first time guy/girl. I've been reading it over the past few weeks (mainly when I sub) and have found it to actually be more insightful than I thought it was going to be. He has simple lessons on how to set up a place to write, rules to follow, and steps for revision and publication. If writing is your thing, I would suggest this novel. Check it out, and whatnot!
